Privacy Policy

This policy explains how joshuadpatterson.com, the WordPress blog, AI Visibility Check, LinkedIn publishing workflow, and related campaign tools handle information.

Effective date: June 2, 2026

Overview

joshuadpatterson.com is a personal website, blog, living CV, AI Dictionary, project hub, and advisory campaign operated by Joshua D. Patterson. The site is used to publish writing, explain advisory services, run AI visibility tools, manage a WordPress blog, and support reviewed social publishing workflows.

Personal information is not sold. Information is used to operate the site, secure the website, respond to messages, improve publishing and advisory workflows, run analytics, maintain WordPress and API features, and comply with legal obligations.

Information this site may handle

The site may process ordinary technical information such as IP address, browser type, device type, pages visited, referring pages, timestamps, server logs, cookies, local storage values, WordPress session data, security events, and spam-prevention signals.

If you contact Joshua through the site, by email, through LinkedIn, or through another channel, your name, organization, website, email address, message content, and related context may be used to respond and keep a record of the conversation.

Analytics and measurement

The site uses Google Analytics through the Google tag to understand traffic, page usage, referrals, and general site performance. Analytics data helps evaluate whether the site is useful, which pages are being read, and where search or AI visibility work may need improvement.

Analytics providers may set cookies or use similar technologies according to their own policies. You can use browser controls, privacy settings, or analytics opt-out tools to limit this kind of tracking.

Cookies, local storage, and preferences

WordPress may use cookies for login sessions, administration, comments, security, and normal site operation. The custom site interface may use local storage to remember preferences such as light or dark mode. These values are used for site functionality and are not sold.

AI Visibility Check and report tools

The AI Visibility Check may ask for a website or business URL and may process public information about that website to evaluate whether AI systems and crawlers can read, summarize, or recommend it. The tool may create a report page or response based on the submitted site, public web content, structured data, crawler access, and related signals.

Do not submit confidential, private, or sensitive information through the AI Visibility Check. The tool is intended for public business and website visibility review, not for private records, medical information, legal documents, financial records, or protected personal data.

WordPress blog, comments, and admin data

The blog and AI Dictionary are powered by WordPress. WordPress may process account information, login sessions, post metadata, comment data if comments are enabled, media uploads, security logs, plugin data, and administrative records. Spam, security, and backup tools may also process technical data needed to protect the site.

LinkedIn OAuth and social publishing

This project uses a private LinkedIn OAuth application for Joshua D. Patterson's own publishing workflow. The integration may store an access token, token expiration, and LinkedIn member identifier needed to publish posts, add reviewed first comments, or manage Joshua's own LinkedIn content through LinkedIn's official API.

The LinkedIn integration is for Joshua's own campaign and content workflow. It is not intended to collect, sell, scrape, broker, or profile LinkedIn member data. You can revoke LinkedIn application access through LinkedIn account settings.

AI crawlers and machine-readable files

The site intentionally publishes machine-readable resources such as robots.txt, llms.txt, sitemap.xml, sitemap.json, and ai.json so search engines and AI systems can understand the public website accurately. These files are about public site visibility and do not grant permission to access private areas, WordPress admin pages, server files, or non-public data.

Third-party services and external links

The site may link to or use third-party services including LinkedIn, Google Analytics, WordPress plugins, hosting providers, Cloudflare or DNS/CDN services, email tools, social platforms, embedded media, and AI services used in development or analysis. Those services may process information according to their own privacy policies and terms.

Data retention

Information is kept only as long as it is useful for site operation, security, analytics, publishing records, client or prospect communication, legal compliance, backups, or legitimate business purposes. Backups and logs may persist for a limited period before being rotated or deleted.

Security

Reasonable steps are used to protect the site and related workflows, including access controls, backups, WordPress administration practices, and server-level security. No website, API, or email system can be guaranteed perfectly secure.

Your choices

You can choose not to submit forms, not to use the AI Visibility Check, block cookies in your browser, revoke LinkedIn app access through LinkedIn, or contact Joshua with privacy questions. If you have provided personal information and want it reviewed, corrected, or deleted where reasonably possible, use the contact page or email Joshua directly.

Children's privacy

This site is not directed to children and is not intended to knowingly collect personal information from children.

Changes to this policy

This policy may be updated as the site, publishing tools, AI Visibility Check, WordPress setup, or social publishing workflow changes. The effective date above reflects the latest revision.
